Fermenting With Starts: Milk Kefir, Kombucha & Sourdough

Learn how to use starts to make your own fermented milk kefir, kombucha, and sourdough bread. Participants will learn the techniques for using and caring for each of these starts, how to manage the fermentation process, and go home with starts of their own. Samples will be available for tasting. Dairy free and gluten free options will be offered as well. (Suitable for Omnivores, Vegetarians, Vegans, GF)

The Potage, a Simple French Soup

The Potage is a traditional, pureed soup from France that can be made from just three ingredients. This simple recipe is an easy way to transform any vegetable into an elegant meal. This cooking class is suitable for new cooks or those who want more confidence in the kitchen. We will make three different soups from start to finish, and then enjoy tasting them all. (Suitable for Omnivores, Vegetarians, Vegans, GF)

Making Fermented Sauerkraut

Learn the traditional method of making homemade fermented sauerkraut. Learn the food safety issues of fermentation, the techniques for fermenting cabbage and other vegetables, and tips to keep your sauerkraut from going moldy. Get ideas on how to combine sauerkraut with other foods for delicious meals (it’s not just for bratwursts!). Sample a variety of finished sauerkrauts, try your hand at making your own, and take a jar home with you. (Suitable for Omnivores, Vegans, Vegetarians, GF)
